Why I Hate Rob Manfred

The commissioner of the MLB is supposed to set an example. But right now, we have a commissioner so bad, so horrible that pretty much every person in the sport is begging for a new one. I think, no, I know that every person in baseball would back me up here, because Rob Manfred is quite horrible. And here’s why. Where to begin with him? I’ll start out with his obscene remark about the World Series trophy. It is called the “Commissioner’s Trophy”, and that comes with high respect. So when you call the trophy, THE TROPHY, a piece of metal when defending his punishment, people are going to go crazy. You just cannot say that. The thing that the players work so hard for, what the fans root for,

The Rise and Fall of Daniel Palka

A tall, big, hard swinging person by the name of Daniel Palka took the MLB by storm in 2018 with his big, long swing, and his unlikely story. Dropped, traded, and then 27 home runs, this is the rise, and then the fall of Daniel Palka. Drafted by the Phillies in the 2010 MLB Draft in the 19th round, Palka didn’t sign, and he enrolled in Georgia Institute of Technology. After his Senior year he was was drafted in the 3rdround by the Diamondbacks, and this time he did sign. Palka started in rookie ball, and made his way up to A- by the end of 2013. In 2014 he spent his whole year in A ball, playing 118 games while slugging 22 home runs. In 2015 he moved up to high A ball, and he hit 29 home run

Should we Hate 1900's Racist Baseball Players?

Ty Cobb is known for a variety of things. First and foremost, being a hall of famer, and leading the MLB in career AVG. Secondly, being mean. Very, very mean. Like Ty Cobb, Cap Anson is known for a variety of things. First, being a hall of famer. Second, being a .334 AVG hitter. What did they have in common? They were both racist. But should we hate them? One day, as the story goes, Ty Cobb was warming up for a game. A black groundskeeper went up to him, and said how much he admired him. Cobb then proceeded to chase the man into the dugout, and when the groundskeeper’s wife, also black, tried to stop him, Cobb began to attack her. Cobb’s teammates then broke up the fight, but the damage had

Why Mike Trout is or isn't a Talent of a Generation

Mike Trout is an extraordinary ball player. He is super talented, no one can say otherwise. But he does have some downsides, thus this article. But it isn’t all bad. He still is SUPER amazing. This is the case for Mike Trout being a talent of a generation, and why he isn’t a talent of a generation. It’s June 9, 2009. It’s the MLB draft, and the Nationals are on the clock. They take Stephen Strasburg, and this draft has begun. It’s now the 24th pick. The Angels are up. Who they are going to take is obvious, given the title of this article. It’s about Mike Trout. It is NOT about Randal Grichuk, who was taken in Round 1, 24th pick of the 2009 MLB Draft. So, how did the Angels get Mike Trout? Si

Mookie Betts Traded to the Dodgers in 3 Way Deal

Mookie Betts was traded to the Dodgers as part of a 3 way deal, per ESPN. The Red Sox sent Mookie Betts and David Price to the Dodgers. The Red Sox got Alex Vurdugo and Brusdar Graterol from the Twins. The Twins received Kenta Maeda from the Dodgers. This really mixes up the off-season. The main reason for this trade for the Red Sox was to get rid of all that money that they are paying David Price. The goal for the Twins and the Dodgers is the same: win a World Series. We’ll see what other big trades happen this offseason.
